The effects of polymeric additives, such as poly(ethyleneimine) (PEI), poly(acrylic acid) (PAA), and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), on the phase transformation of calcium carbonate and calcium phosphate were examined. Calcium carbonate and calcium phosphate minerals have been exposed to sodium fluoride aqueous solutions with each polymeric additive. The phase transformation of minerals were confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD), and the surface of single crystal after fluoride reaction was observed by atomic force microscopy (AFM) more precisely. |
