제목 Synthesis and Water Repellent Properties of Non-Fluorinated Acrylic Copolymers
초록 There is potential risk for human health and environment with persistent fluoro-organic compounds. Hence, the development of non-fluorinated water repellent materials is very important for the fabrication of environmentally friendly coatings on fabrics. In this study, we synthesized non-fluorinated acrylic copolymers as water repellent materials. The copolymers contain long alkyl chain group (C18) which effectively render the hydrophobic property. Furthermore, highly reactive cross-linkable functional groups, such as amine, hydroxyl and epoxy ring, were introduced to the copolymers to improve durability and stability of the coating on fabrics. After coating, the fabric showed high water contact angle. The high water repellency maintained after physical washing. Detailed results will be discussed.
