제목 Reductive amination of 2-propanol to monoisopropylamine over transition metal based catalysts
초록 Transition metal based catalysts were prepared by the impregnation method for the synthesis of MIPA by the reductive amination of 2-propanol in the presence of hydrogen and ammonia. 2-Propanol conversion was related to the exposed active metal surface area. Excess ammonia and hydrogen was effective for the enhancement of the MIPA selectivity. During the reaction, in the absence of hydrogen the catalyst was progressively deactivated but its initial activity and selectivity was totally recovered by re-exposing to feed containing hydrogen. The deactivation is nickel nitride formation caused by strong adsorption of ammonia on the surface of nickel metal phase. Excess hydrogen hindered the phase transition to metal nitride, preventing deactivation.
