제목 Synthesis of graphene oxide-coated mesoporous silica particles with different pore size and their electroresponse
초록 The graphene oxide-coated mesoporous silica particles (SiO2/GO) are synthesized to investigate the pore size effect on the electrorheological (ER) activity. Particularly, various mesoporous silica spheres are fabricated by Stöber method. In addition, the pore size of particle is controlled by the surfactant template method using trimethylbenzene (TMB) solution. Also, graphene-oxide nanosheets (< 100 nm) are coated onto the surface of silica particles by electrostatic interaction to enhance the ER efficiency. In this experiment, the SiO2/GO-based ER fluids with largest pore size exhibits the most enhanced ER activity due to increased dielectric and sedimentation property. Interestingly, the shear stress inversion phenomenon is observed to deviate from the normal Bingham plastic behavior. This newly designed ER study examines the effect of the pore size on the ER performance of material.
