We synthesized alkylammonium-functionalized hollow mesoporous silica particles with sphere morphology by using a surfactant mixture composed of zwitterionic (N-dodecyl-N,N-dimethyl-3-ammonio-1-propane sulfonate, DDAPS) and anionic SDS surfactants as structure-directing agents, TEOS and alkylammonium alkoxysilane (TMAPS) as silica sources. The hollow particles have the particle size of ca. 450 nm with the shell thickness of ca. 60 nm. Surface area, pore volume and pore diameter of the alkylammonium-functionalized hollow mesoporous silica particles were 405 m2/g, 0.80 cm3/g and 45.9 Å, respectively. We studied on the controlled releasing of anticancer drug (fludarabine) using the alkylammonium-functionalized hollow mesoporous silica particles as supporter of drug molecules. The drug molecules-incorporated hollow mesoporous silicas showed the cancer cell viability of 2.5 % while the cell viability was 1.3 % after treatment for 96 h with the drug molecules (fludarabine). |
