Lithium ion batteries (LIBs) have been regarded as the most competitive candidates for powering electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). Among the number of different cathode materials nickel-rich LiNixCoyMnzO2 is particularly interesting due to the superior charge/discharge properties. Li[Ni0.8Co0.1Mn0.1]O2 (NCM811) is regarded as a promising material for next-generation lithium ion batteries due to the high capacity, but its practical applications are limited by the poor electronic conductivity. Herein, we report one-step method to prepare the nitrogen and sulphur dual-doped carbon (NSC), subsequently able to coat on NCM811 to be as NSC@Li[Ni0.8Co0.1Mn0.1]O2 (NSC@NCM811). The physical properties of as-prepared cathode active material are characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy. The electrochemical performances using galvanostatic charge/discharge cycler, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy have been investigated. |
