제목 Enhancement of Mechanical Properties of Epoxy Composites Reinforced by Fluorinated Multi-walled Carbon Nanotube and Graphene nanoplatelet
초록 To improve dispersion and interfacial interaction in the epoxy resin, multi-walled carbon nanotube(MWCNT) and Graphene nanoplatelet(GNP) are treated by fluorine gas. The effects of fluorination on surface of MWCNT and GNP are investigated by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and then, the mechanical properties of their composites are evaluated. The cross-section of treated MWCNT/GNP/epoxy composites are observed by using a scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The mechanical properties of MWCNT/GNP/epoxy composites are higher than MWCNT reinforced epoxy composites. Also, the epoxy composites reinforced by fluorinated MWCNT and GNP are enhanced 101 % in tensile strength and 69 % in impact strength higher than raw epoxy. These results are attributed to synergy effect composed with size effect and improvement of dispersion and interfacial interaction between the surface treated reinforcements and epoxy resin.
