Synthesis of Sulfur-Divinylbenzene Copolymers with Enhanced Thermal Properties via Hot-Press Assisted Reactive Annealing |
초록 |
Recent discovery and development of inverse vulcanization gave rise to a wide range of high sulfur content polymers with diverse desirable properties with optical and electrochemical characteristics. However, the majority of sulfur-rich polymers from inverse vulcanization intrinsically have low and inconsistent glass transition temperatures, which hampers their thermal stability and applicability for further utilization. Though enhanced Tg values (>100 °C) were obtained by introducing 1,3,5-triisopropenylbenzene (TIB) which is a trifunctional analogues of DIB, cumbersome multiple synthesis steps of TIB along with the high price of the palladium-based catalyst used still left its practicality doubtful. Hence, we herein report the synthesis of sulfur copolymers with enhanced thermal properties using commercially available divinylbenzene (DVB) as a comonomer. |
