Electron beam irradiation effect on poly(dimethyl siloxane) |
초록 |
In this study, electron beam irradiation effect on poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) sheets was investigated. PDMS sheets prepared by a conventional method were irradiated by electron beams at various doses ranging from 20 to 200 kGy. The irradiated films were characterized in terms of swellability, wettability, chemical composition, and mechanical property. As a result, the swellability of the irradiated PDMS was decreased with an increasing dose, while its wettablity and compression strength were increased due to the increase in the crosslinking density and the generation of hydrophlilic groups on the surface by electron beam irradiation. |
