Void formation mechanism in CZTSSe using metal precursors |

So far, the highest power conversion efficiency of CZTSSe cell has been reported as 12.6% by the two step process using hydrazine solution (2014). Hydrazine solution processes using various organic solvents have disadvantages in terms of risk of explosion, wastewater treatment and limitation of large area process. Recently, 12.3% of power conversion efficiency of the CZTSSe solar cells was reported by two step process using metal precursor from our group, and our new results of above 12.6% will be published elsewhere soon. So far, CZTSSe double layer, ZnSSe layer between CZTSSe double layer and the large void at the Mo back contact side has been commonly observed in the microstructures of the CZTSSe light absorber layer by two steps process using metal precursor. In this study, we report the formation mechanism of the void. Detailed formation mechanism was reasonably proposed based on the our analysed data and the tendency of preferential reaction. |
