Crystallization processes are widely used techniques for purifying pharmaceutical substances. The crystallization process consists of two major events, nucleation and crystal growth. Many compounds have the ability to crystallize with different crystal structures, a phenomenon called polymorphism. Calcium carbonate crystal has three phases such as calcite, vaterite, aragonite. Phase transform of calcium carbonate by polymer additives and ions are researched. Phase transforms are observed by SEM and XRD. |
