Graphene Oxide (GO) is generally known as a material that has interesting electronic, thermal, and mechanical properties with various application. Polynorbornenes such as N-phenyl-exo-norbornene-5,6-dicarboximide present excellent good thermal stability, and good mechanical flexibility. In this study, we synthesized polynorbornene anhydride (PNA)/GO hybrid films where GO was well dispersed and exfoliated in the PNA matrix. The GO was modified by ring-opening reaction between the epoxy groups on the GO sheets and the aliphatic amine of 4-aninobenzylamine. After 6 hours’ reaction, modified GO (m-GO) powder was produced. The dried m-GO was well-dispersed again in DMAc by sonication. To synthesize PNA/GO hybrids, m-GO dispersed DMAc solutions with various GO contents were added into PNA/DMAc solutions and stirred for 12 hours at room temperature. Finally transparent PNA/GOhybrid films were prepared via thermal imidization of the hybrid solution. |
