Clustering of Iron Oxide Nanocrystals in Conjugated Polymer Nanoparticles for Enhanced, Simultaneous Photothermal, Photoacoustic and Magnetic Effects |

Nanomaterials has been admitted as a tremendous potential in various fields, especially as multifunctional applications in one-step process for bio-medical theragnosis. In this study, by harvesting NIR energy, we mainly focused on the use of two kind materials as hybrid nanoparticles (HNs) for magnetic resonance imaging and photoacoustic - photothermal therapy simultaneously. Inside, conjugated polymer has been recognized through conductivity in electro-optical characteristics while magnetic nanoparticles has been investigated by magnetically contrast properties. Our water-dispersed HNs were assembled successfully by forming the phase-separated thin film of a conjugated polymer, phospholipids and iron oxide nanocrystals, followed by shattering the film with water penetration into the polar region of the phase-separated film under ultrasonication.[1] The specific characteristics of HNs were significantly improved at an optimal mixing ratio, presenting simultaneous multifunctionalities. |
