제목 Organic thin-film transistor materials for biological sensing
초록 Organic thin-film transistors (OTFT) have been attractive in flexible electronics. Their mobility already exceeded those of amorphous silicon (a-Si) TFTs but their electrical stability and uniformity issue in large area still remained to be solved for incorporating in flat panel display (FPD).
Currently, the researches of OTFTs have moved to biological or chemical sensing. The early work was the study of OTFT in aqueous media and the combination with microfluidic technology was followed. The bioreceptors in OTFT based sensors are glucose, DNA, antibody and ions etc. Moreover, OTFTs have been used in recording of neurons.
There are two types of OTFT biosensors. One is organic field-effect transistors (OFET)-based sensor and another is organic electrochemical transistors (OECT)-based sensor. For water-stable devices, several organic semiconductors in the active layer and capping materials in the passivation layer have been chosen. In this present, the research trend of organic thin-film transistor materials will be discussed.
