Graphene has attracted world-wide attention due to its unique physicochemical properties. The electrochemical properties can further be modified by doping of heteroatoms (N, S, P and B). However, it has been observed previously that the doping reduces the surface area of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) due to restacking of sheets and resulted in poor surface area and poor wettability between electrode and electrolyte. Therefore, to overcome this problem, we functionalize the surface of N, S co-doped rGO by alkanolamine molecules to improve the surface area and wettability. Interestingly, the synergistic effect of alkanolamine functionalization and co-doping of rGO resulted in the impressive capacitance value and excellent cycling stability and shows its significant potential for energy storage applications. |
