제목 Growth Factor-Loaded Matrix with Leaf-Stacked Structure for Enhanced Bone Regeneration
초록 Tissue engineering based on cells, scaffolds, and bioactive molecules have been widely investigated. In recent years, sustained release of bioactive molecules from scaffolds is reported as an essential component for advanced tissues/organs. To allow sustained release of bioactive molecules from porous scaffolds, chemically modified scaffolds are commonly used. This modification leads to sufficient interaction with active sites of bioactive molecules to stable the immobilization of bioactive molecules in the body. However it is hard to apply to clinical applications because of the toxicity of chemical residue used for the modification. In this study, we developed a porous bead with leaf-stacked structure which can allow sustained release of bioactive molecules without any chemical modification. Their morphology, BMP-2 release behavior and in vitro osteogenic differentiation of cells. We also estimated new bone formation of the porous bead using a miniature pig model (mandibular defect).
