Preparation and oxygen sensing properties of a sol-gel derived thin film based on pyrene derivatives |

Pyrene derivatives are an attractive fluorophore for use in oxygen sensing materials. To develop fluorescent sensing films for detecting dissolved oxygen, pyrene derivatives were covalently immobilized in a porous sol-gel derived thin film. Silicate derivatives were prepared from the reaction of 1-pyrenebutanol and 1-pyrenebutyryl chloride with isocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane and aminopropyltriethoxysilane, respectively. Sol-gel derived sensing films were fabricated onto a glass plate using tetraethyorthosilicate as a main precursor and their oxygen sensing properties and dye-leaching in aqueous media were investigated. |
