Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) is a semi-crystalline polymer. PET is a very important and versatile engineering polymer which is widely used as fibers, bottles, packages, etc. Poly(ether imide) (PEI) is well known amorphous engineering thermoplastic polymer. PEI has advantages of good mechanical properties and thermal stability. CNT and graphene are used in variety of fields due to its excellent lightweightness, mechanical properties and conductivity. Blending PET with PEI is an alternative to overcome the disadvantages of these two polymers. Also, CNT and graphene addition is an excellent route to upgrade electrical properties of PET/PEI composites. In this study, CNT and graphene are added to PET/PEI composites, respectively. PET/PEI/CNT or graphene composite samples were prepared using twin screw extruder. Thermal properties and electrical conductivity were measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and digital multimeter, respectively. |
