The cytotoxicity and apoptosis induction of Hibiscus syriacus extracts were evaluated. The Hibiscus syriacus was extracted with methanol(HSM). HSM was fractionated into four substractions by using solvent partition method, affording hexane(HSH), dichloromethane(HSD), ethyl acetate(HSE) and aqueous(HSA) soluble fractions. Human cancer cells were exposed to increase concentrations (0-500 ㎍/㎖) at 24-72 h intervals by subfractions(HSH, HSD, HSE, HSA). Cell growth in treated cultures was compared with cell growth under nontreated conditions by MTT assay. Apoptosis induction of HSM was evaluated various methods,Hoechst 33342 staining, DNA fragmentation and Western blot. |
