제목 | Fabrication of Holographic Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal(HPDLC) Gratings under Electric Field |
초록 | We studied the electro-optical properties of transmissive holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal(HPDLC) fabricated in the presence of electric field with various frequency. Polyurethane acrylate(PUA)-based HPDLC fabricated under electric field is expected to reduce driving-voltage. Orientated LC molecules under external field should induce the orientation of PUA oligomers and reactive diluents along the electric direction. Thus polymer networks are expected to propagate according to the electric direction in progress of photo-polymerization. Driving-voltage of HPDLC was reduced due to the orientated polymer networks holding the orientated LC molecules to some extent while the external field is off. The output signal from a function generator was amplified and used to drive the HPDLC. The driving signal and the response of HPDLC were monitored with a digital storage oscilloscope(Hitachi VC-6023). The morphologies of holographic gratings were measured by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). |
