제목 Dual-functional CeO2:Eu3+ nanocrystals for enhanced performance of dye-sensitized solar cells
초록 CeO2:Eu3+ nanocrystals with single-crystalline and uniform octahedral structure were synthesized by hydrothermal process in order to enhance light-harvesting of solar spectrum in dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The CeO2:Eu3+ nanocrystals have dual functions of light-scattering by the large size nanocrystals of ca. 400 nm and down-conversion photoluminescence of indirect excitation of CeO2 host at 340 nm and emission of Eu3+ at 590 nm. The CeO2:Eu3+ nanocrystals-based DSSCs exhibited an improved power conversion efficiency of 7.88% compared to conventional TiO2 nanoparticles-based DSSCs due to strong light-scattering effect and down-conversion photoluminescence of CeO2:Eu3+ nanocrystals.
