Triphenylne Based Discotic Liquid Crystals and their polymerization |

Triphenylene based discotic liquid crystals are the most widely synthesized and studied discotic mesogens. These materials have the potential abilities for opto-electronic devices. For the possible apllication, it is cruicail to fix the structure of discotic liquidcrystalline state. We have synthesized triphenylene based discotic liquid crystals and photo-polymerizable groups. These materials complexed through hydrogen bonding, and photo-polymerizied by UV-irradiation. |
