During the past few years, the power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has increased rapidly which makes them potentially competitive with currently available thin film and polycrystalline silicon devices. Among several materials, CH3NH3PbI3 is have been widely used because highly crystalline at low temperature, long range carrier diffusion length and high optical absorption coefficients. Despite the exiting progress in this area, concerns with the toxicity and stability of Pb necessitate the development of alternative materials. Therefore, key factor in making environment-friendly solar cells are effort to replace non-toxic materials such as Sn, Ge, and Cu. In this work, we demonstrate Cs2SnI6 as a lead-free halide perovskite film for the light harvesting semiconductor in photovoltaic applications. |
