The Lithium Ion Capacitor (LIC) as an Advanced Hybrid Capacitor |
초록 |
The lithium ion capacitor (LIC) is one of the advanced capacitors which have higher specific energy and energy density than conventional electrochemical double layer capacitors (EDLC). In fabrication of LIC, lithium ion must be doped to negative electrode in advance to charge the capacitor. This lithium-doping is a mandatory process to LIC and metallic lithium is currently used as a lithium source. The limitation of using metallic lithium may affect the production cost which would hinder the wide expansion of LIC. New lithium-doping method, using lithium metal oxides, has been proposed to remove metallic lithium from the system. Transition metal oxides having monoclinic and antifluorite phase have been explored as lithium source to realize the new doping concept |
