For more than two decades, a variety of conducting polymers have been actively synthesized for use in OLEDs, OTFTs, and OPVs. Although polymer-based optoelectronics are easily processed using solution-based methods, carrier mobilities in polymer devices are limited due to poor polymer packing and defects on a macroscopic scale resulting from weak intermolecular van der Waals forces. Carrier mobility in conjugated polymer is determined by intramolecular and intermolecular charge transport. Intramolecular charge transport occurred in effective conjugation length, have faster carrier mobility than intermolecular charge transport. To achieve high inter-molecular charge transport, ordered polymer packing is required. In this talk, I would like to address some of efforts in strategies for the synthesis of various conducting polymers to improve polymer packing and results related to devices employing light harvesting materials and hole transporting / charge carrier materials. |
