Conductive composites have been intensively investigated due to their high potential for application in various electro devices. The DMPA (acid salt groups) in waterborne polyurethane (WBPU) has a strong effect on many of their physical properties. In this study, a series of WBPU having various DMPA content (4.05, 5.89, 7.46wt%) were prepared by prepolymer mixing process, and a series of conductive composites [WBPUs /various CB content ( - about 30wt%) composite] were prepared by blending. The effects of DMPA and carbon black contents on the viscosity of dispersions, and the conductivity, morphology, mechanical properties of WBPU/CB composite films were investigated. It was found that the CB content for forming stable smooth surface film increased with increasing DMPA content. The conductivity and mechanical properties of composites were found to be increased with increasing CB content. |
