Amphiphilic block copolymers have been received wide attention due to their intriguing properties, such as surface activity as well as self-assembly. In this work, we synthesized two types of amphiphilic block copolymers, poly [2-(methacryloyloxy) ethyl phosphorylcholine]-block-poly (ε-caprolactone)-block-poly [2-(methacryloyloxy) ethyl phosphorylcholine] and poly (2-aminoethyl methacrylate)-block-poly (ε-caprolactone)-block-poly (2-aminoethyl methacrylate), by using atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). We showed that highly stable cationically charged nanoscale emulsions could be fabricated by assembling the combined block copolymers at the oil-water interface. We expect these surface-charged nanoemulsion would find a variety of applications in fields of cell targeting, drug delivery, and cosmetics. |
