제목 Low Band-Gap Polymers Containing Acetylene Linkages for Photovoltaic Applications
초록 The generally adapted strategy in designing low-band gap conjugated polymers is to alternate the electron-rich and electron-deficient units on the polymer backbone. Several low-band gap polymers have been utilized for organic photovoltaics (OPVs) with power conversion efficiency of 2-5%. A new silole-containing low band gap polymer PSBTEBT was synthesized by replacing the 5th-position carbon of PCPDTEBT with a silicon atom. The optical properties of both the low band gap polymers were investigated. UV spectra of PSBTEBT and PCPDTEBT show absorption bands around 530 nm. Both the compounds have low optical band gaps (Egopt) suggesting their potential applications in optoelectronics. Moreover the introduction of triple bond in the bridge will increase the exciton dissociation rates by converting singlet excitons into triplet excitons.
