Well-ordered self-assembled materials have attracted increasing interest, because of their one dimensional charge and energy transport capability in mesophase, which are promising for the application in electrical and optical devices such as organic compensation films in LCD and organic semiconductors in OTFT. The driving forces of self-assembling are non-covalent physical interaction such as π-π stacking, hydrogen-bonding, chalcogen-chalcogen interaction, dipole-dipole interaction, electrostatic interaction and van der Waals interaction. In this research, we report triphenylene based reactive mesogens with sulfide or amide connecting group for the development of mesogens with broad and processable mesophase range. And, we’ll also report the spectroscopic characterization and liquid crystalline properties of synthesized mesogens. |
