In this work, the effect of cross-linking agents on copolymers synthesized with polystyrene was studied. The copolymers were obtained by using various cross-linking agents, such as divinylbenzene (DVB), glycidyl methacrylate (GMA), and trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA). The resultant copolymers were characterized by FTIR and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). In addition, the thermal properties of the copolymer were also investigated with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). It was found that the structure and molecular weight of the copolymers were different with three types of cross-linking agents which influenced on the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the copolymers synthesized. |
