Graphene-based nanomaterials which are on the front line of chemical research have attracted tremendous academic and practical interest because of its prominent electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties that originated from the structure of their two-dimensional hexagonal carbon lattice. Even though SLG possesses outstanding properties mentioned above than other graphene-based materials, large scale applications of SLG are still unsuitable owing to high production cost and undeveloped preparing method of SLG. Indeed, not just do SLG has interesting properties, Graphene Nanoplatelets (10-100 graphene layers; ~3-30nm thick) are also interesting and deserving of investigation. In this report, a simple and environmental conservation approach to decorate GNPs with Ag-NPs was successfully performed by using stannous (II) chloride in the presence of hydrochloric acid, followed by simultaneous reduction of diamminesilver with formaldehyde as reducing agent within several minutes. The reaction steps were researched by IR, XPS, XRD, UV-visable, and ICP-OES, as well as SEM, TEM, and TGA. |
