The type of fuel cell based on polymer electrolyte membranes has especially attracted interest from academic and industry. Among polymer electrolyte fuel cell materials, sulfonated fluoropolymers such as Nafion rank as the most widely used membrane materials because of their high ion conductivity, remarkable chemical stability, and other favorable properties. However, these materials has some defect such as low conductivity at high temperature and high methanol crossover. So. many researchers reported a lot of materials for fuel cell membrane. In this study, we report the synthesis of Poly(2,6-dimethyl-phenylene oxide)-g-Poly(styrene sulfonic acid) sodium salt for fuel cell membrane. This polymers synthesized by living radical polymerization. Controlled polymer architecture can be synthesized via living radical polymerization. The synthesized polymers characterized by NMR and any other method. Physical properties such as proton conductivity are will be discussed.
