A crossflow microfiltration-adsorption system was used to study on its performance through experimental and mathematical approaches. From the experimental results, very high fulvic acid (FA) was removed (up to 85% removal) under the operation conditions of a mixing intensity of 160.4 s-1, mixing time of 4 minutes, a PAC dose of 260 mg/L and membrane pore size of 0.2 mm. The removal efficiency increased with the increase of mixing intensity and mixing time. This paper presents mathematical model established based on surface diffusion and pore diffusion. The experimental data were well fitted by the surface diffusion model incorporated with Freunlich equation.
