Recently, there is a growing interest in stimuli-responsive hydrogel sensors based on photonic crystal. By using the diffraction phenomenon, photonic crystal hydrogel sensors can be confirmed which can be detected by the naked eyes. In this study, we demonstrate a thermochromic photonic sensors by opal templating method for infiltration of hydrogel monomer mixture containing two different temperature-responsive monomers. Various structural color changes appeared to depend on temperature changes within 10~80 degreeC range. ACMO(4-Acryloylmorpholine) and NIPAAM(N-isopropylacrylamide), were used as the temperature-responsive monomers, having different LCST(Lower Critical Solution Temperature) respectively. If temperature falls down, we could observe the red-shifted color change in this sensors. We make monomer mixture which makes the ratio of ACMO and NIPAAM different and it can observe the color change at the wavelength different range. |
