제목 Volatile and Non-volatile Memory devices Based on Functional Polyimides Containing Electron-Donor and -Acceptor Moieties
초록 Themally and dimensionally stable polyimide based memory devices were fabricated with solution coating and memory switching behavior were examined. These polymers are amorphous but orient preferentially in the plane of nanoscale thin films. Depending on the side group bonded to the 6FTPA, the devices fabricated with nanoscale thin PI film showed differnet memory behaviors. In the 6FDA-6FTPA PI, the donating power of the triphenylamine group is reduced due to the electron-accepting trifluoromethyl group. And in the 6FDA-2TTPA PI the donating power of triphenylamine group is increased due to the electron-donating thiophene group. So, 6FDA-6FTPA PI device shows volatile DRAM characteristics and 6FDA-2TTPA shows non-volatile WORM characteristics. Both devices showed excellent memory behaviors with a high ON/OFF ratio of up to 107. The properties of the 6FTPA-based PIs make them promising materials for high density and very stable programmable storage devices with low power consumption.
