In this work, nitrogen functionality was introduced to the mesoporous carbon (CMK-3) and their effect on electrocatalytic performance of urea treated CMK-3 (U-CMK-3) supports for fuel cells were invesigated. The nitrogen functional groups were introduced with different urea contents i.e., 1, 3, and 4 g. And then, Pt-Ru nanoparticles deposited on U-CMK-3 were prepared by chemical reduction method. The cyclic voltammetry for methanol oxidation revealed that the methanol oxidation peak varied depending on changes of nitrogen functional groups. The changes of nitrogen functional groups were related to Pt-Ru reduction, resulting in significantly affect the methanol oxidation activity of anode electro-catalysts in fuel cells. |
