Preparation of Hierarchical Silver Concentric Patterns for SERS |

The prepared concentric ring patterns of polystyrene-block-poly(methyl methacrylate) copolymer (PS-b-PMMA) confined at hemi-sphere walls were investigated by scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The hemi-spherical confinement was achieved by using anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template. The silver was selectively located on PS part of block copolymers by thermal evaporation. The number, gap and width of silver rings was controlled by block copolymer molecular weight. The SERS effect was measured though Raman spectroscopy. When the number of concentric ring increase, SERS effect also increase due to interference effects between rings. Acknowledgements.
