The cross-liked SPEEK membranes were prepared by radiation cross-linking SPEEK film for a comparative study of proton exchange membrane (PEM) for fuel cell applications. Thermal stability, uptake behavior, ionic exchange capacity (IEC), proton conductivity and degree of cross-linking of the SPEEK membranes were determined as function of degree of sulfonation. The results of DSC show that the DOS increase at the melting point of the membranes shits to the lower temperature. The water uptake, IEC and proton conductivity increases with increasing DOS. The effect of cross-liked SPEEK membranes on the properties is also discussed. |
