Synthesis of Amine based Zeolite X organo compositesas CO2 Adsorbents |

Increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations, mainly caused by fossil fuel combustion, have become an important concern for global warming. These emissions increased significantly in the last century and still rising continuously at faster rate. Hence a method for sequestration of CO2 by adsorption and capture is highly desirable. In this context we have developed N-containing Amine based zeolite X nanocomposite by ‘Ship in the bottle’ type synthetic methodology. The CO2 adsorption properties of these materials were studied. The adsorption of CO2 over these materials is attributed to synergetic nature of porous spaces provided by micropores and N-functionalities from organic molecule enhancing adsorption of CO2. |
