Spinel-type NiFe2O4 nanoparticles with abundant oxygen vacancies as an enhanced electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction |
초록 |
Mesoporous NiFe2O4 spinel-type nanoparticles with abundant oxygen vacancies was successfully synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method followed by mild H2 reduction and used as catalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in alkaline condition. The influence of oxygen vacancy on electrocatalytic activity for OER was investigated by phisical and electrochemical charaterization. As compared with the pristine and air-treated NiFe2O4 nanoparticles, the H2-treated NiFe2O4 spinel nanoparticles exhibit a much lower overpotential of 389 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm-2 in comparison with pristine NiFe2O4 (496 mV) and substantial long-term durability even after 1000 cyclic voltammetry (CV) test. All these outstanding OER activity and stability could be attributed to their small nanoparticles with well-ordered mesoporous structures, high ratio of Ni2+/Ni3+ cations, and abundant oxygen vacancies on the surface. |
