Thermoplastic elastomer with shape memory effects from ethylene-co-vinyl acetate (EVA)/nylon 12 blends |
| 초록 |
Semicrystalline ethylene-co-vinyl acetate(EVA) with VA content of 40% and nylon 12 were melt blended in an internal mixer with nylon 12 contents of 10~30 wt%. The blends exhibited thermoplastic elastomeric behavior having high elongation at break with excellent elastic recoverabiltiy as well as melt processibiltiy. Phase separated structure and interfacial interactions between the components in the blends were examined by DSC, DMA and FTIR. Further, the EVA/nylon 12 blend TPE showed shape memory effects and the temperature at which shape recovery occurs is well matched with Tm of EVA phase. |
