MXenes have been gained tremendous research interests especially native high electrical conductivity. For example, Ti3C2Tx MXene has been used as a resistive strain hydrogel sensor due to the piezoresistive characteristics that appear as an interlayer distance change by external pressure. However, hydrogel is mainly composed of water which can induce facile oxidation of Ti3C2Tx MXene to TiO2, resulting in decreased sensing performance on prolonged cycles. In this study, polymeric ligand showing both facile hydrogelation and high oxidation resistance of functionalized MXene, which is some ideal feature of MXene towards hydrogel-based sensing application. As a result of the resistance sensor test, Gauge factor 2.04 and self-healing characteristics were confirmed.
