제목 Theranostic Nanomedicine for imaging and therapy of cancers
초록 Theranostic agents for simultaneous cancer diagnosis and therapy have received a great deal of attention. In particular, a variety of nanomedicines have been designed as theranostics due to their advantageous properties, which include a relatively large surface area for tagging targeting ligands and contrast agents, enhanced permeation and retention (EPR) in the circulatory system, and size- and shape-dependant optical and magnetic properties. Recently, gold nanorods (GNR) and graphene oxides (GO) have attracted attention due to their interesting optical properties for biomedical applications. Therefore, we have developed various types of GNR and GO-based theranostics for molecular imaging and subsequent photodynamic and/or photothermal therapy of cancers. In particular, GNR or GO-photosensitizer conjugates showed great potential for near-infrared fluorescence imaging with high tumor-to-background ratio, and subsequent photodynamic and/or photothermal therapy of cancers.
