Synthesis and electrochemical analysis of nickel aluminium layered double hydroxide / graphene nanosheet composite electrodes |

Nickel aluminium layered double hydroxide (NiAl-LDH)/graphene nanosheet (GNS) composites were synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method. We analyzed the morphology and structure of the as-prepared composites by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transition electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Electrochemical performances were also examined by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in 6M KOH electrolyte. As the layered double hydroxide increased the specific surface area of the composites by preventing graphene nanosheet from restacking each other, the composites showed highly improved specific capacitance than pure NiAl-LDH and GNS at various scan rates. In conclusion, NiAl-LDH/GNS composites are promising electrode materials with enhanced electrochemical properties. |
