제목 PVP/PEO Blend Matrix for Facilitated Olefin Transport Membranes Containing Activated Silver Nanoparticles
초록 The separation of olefin/paraffin mixtures is important in the petrochemical industry. Most of the separation is currently carried out using cryogenic distillation processes, requiring enormous initial investment and high operational costs. Therefore, membrane technologies utilizing facilitated transport have been received much attention for both economic and environmental reasons. PVP polymer is commonly used for a capping agent for silver nanoparticle preparation from silver salt and also as a membrane matrix. Surface-activated silver nanoparaticles by electron acceptor are already known to interact with olefin reversibly and therefore have been utilized as an olefin carrier for facilitated transport. Although PVP makes the selectivity increased, it has however low gas permeability. Therefore PVP is blended with PEO to improve film properties and to get high permeance for olefin/paraffin separation membrane. The blend ratio was then optimized for high separation performance.
