Fuel cells as an energy conversion device can be used in many power tecgnologies and are open to further developments. Considering the fuel cells integrated portable electric devices and electric vehicles, especially the direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) have great potential for high energy-conversion eifficiency, zero-emission and simple construction. Platinum catalyst have been used as cathode and anode electrodes in fuel cells. However, some problems such as poor methanol oxidation kinetics, high-cost, durability of Pt-based catalyst, CO-poisoning, prevent their widespread commercialization. In this case of Pt-c(NH2-MIL-101)@NCNT, an amine-functionalized MIL-101 and a platinum catalyst supported on a nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube composite were prepared, and the electrochemical properties were investigated. Metal-organic framework provides an area for supporting platinum nanoparticles, and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are used as electron transfer pathway. |
