Green low-energy consumption approaches to the preparation of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) have recently been examined. Metal-assisted reduction methods are particularly strong candidate methods because the reduction reaction proceeds without the need for toxic reagents. In this study, a graphene oxide (GO) film supported on a steel sheet was prepared by electrophoretic deposition and then treated with a NaCl solution to form an rGO film. The rGO film displayed an electrical conductivity of 40.7 S/m, and was prepared using benign and environmentally friendly reduction conditions. The method is simple, requiring only GO, steel sheets, NaCl, and water, and no acids, bases, or other organic materials were needed. |
