Fabrication of PolymerFunctionalized Multi Walled Carbon Nanotubes by Gold Nano-paticles |

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have widely been studied for potential applications due to their extraordinary physical, chemical and mechanical properties. Applications of CNTS as novel biomaterials have been reported recently. Moreover, the formation of CNTmetal nanoparticle hybrid materials are being considered as vital building blocks for heterogeneous catalysis for nanoelectronics and molecular bio-sensing applications. However, the utilization of CNTS in different fields including biological and biomedical purposes is limited because of their non-dispersibility in aqueous media. In the present study, the dispersibility of MWCNTs were improved with the help of poly-acryloyl - alanine. Subsequently, the polymer functionalized CNTs were fabricated in situ by gold nano-paticles (AuNPs). |
