Preparation and Characterization of Polyimide Composites Films for Reducing Coefficient of Thermal Expansion |

Recently, much attention has been paid to nano-composite materials with focus on material science. As a result, many kinds of nano-particle hybrid materials have been produced. As an engineering material, polyimides have been applied in many areas such as aerospace, microelectronics, liquid crystal, electrical insulation industry and so on. In this study nanocomposite films were prepared from various silane derivatives such as tetraethoxy silane with simple mixing and heat treatment with polyimide. PI was prepared by the one-step solution polymerization between 6FDA and HAB in NMP. The silica content in the composite films was varied from 0 to 40 wt %. The molecular structures of the composite materials were analyzed by means of FT-IR and NMR. In addition, optical, physical and thermal properties of the free standing composite films were investigated by various techniques. |
