제목 | A New Approach of DNA-Guided Organic Photo-Luminescent Particles for Biomolecular Recognition |
초록 | Novel display materials have gained keen attraction recently in the fields of electronics and photonics research especially due to the rapid evolution of smart communication devices. Among of display materials, organic light-emitting diode (OLED) have excellent response time, putting conservative estimates at under 10-μs, whereupon many researchers have developed various OLED materials for better efficiency. Our group grafted biochemical reactions onto OLED based on deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). An oligomeric DNA-DNA specific recognition is successfully achieved by tri (8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq3). A DNA-Alq3 particles crystallized single-strand DNA molecules have shown a unique distribution which the DNA molecules were composed of a shape of an inverted hour glass. The crystal's luminescent intensity was enhanced by 1.6-fold upon recognition of perfect-matched target DNA sequence, but not in the case of single-base mismatched one. We confirmed that OLED material can be used to enable biological recognition owing to triggers photo-luminescent enhancement with DNA for the first time. -Reference: Nature Communications, 7, 10234 (2016) |
